Rare John Deere Plow Company Deer Statue Moline Illinois Metal Antique Vintage
I have found very few examples of this online. I don’t know the age or much about it. Please study all the photos carefully as that is my primary description. This is a bank. The left half and the right half of the body are two separate pieces, and the gap between the two is significant at some points. Also, it seems like the whole deer is leaning backwards. When you look at it from the front, it doesn’t really seem to be leaning that much in my opinion. But if you turn it around or look at it from the side it does look like it’s leaning back. I’ve tried to capture this in the photos. I don’t know if it was made that way or if it’s sustained damage at some point in it’s history. I don’t know what the metal is made of. It may have been painted this gold color at some point. I saw one example online that had been painted in many different colors. I do not know how it originally was when it was new. To be honest this statue is a little on the crude side. It is also a little unique how the antlers are mounted to the head. All that aside, though, this is a great piece. I think this would be quite a find for any serious John Deere Collector. Really a wonderful peace, with a GREAT vintage look. Any questions on that- Feel free to message me.
